MHS's Suresh Earns Perfect ACT Score

Yep, he's perfect. MHS Junior Suraj Suresh scored a 36 on his ACT.  But, at the August 23 school board meeting when asked how he celebrated earning the score that less than one-tenth of one percent of ACT test takers attain? He laid this piece of wisdom on the crowd, "I didn't - it's just a test."
Suresh, son of Suresh Gangadharan and Sreeja Gopalan, earned a top composite score of 36 on the June ACT test. The first time he took the ACT he earned a 35. He credits taking rigorous courses as a key to his perfect score - but underscores that getting the 36 is just a bonus to taking classes that engage and push him.

"I enjoy taking challenging AP and honors courses that make me think - the side product is getting good grades on tests."
In addition to his passion and aptitude for learning, Suresh is involved with a number of Mason High School’s extracurricular offerings: Model UN, Math Team and computer programming. He is also proud of his work on the Interalliance Leadership Council.
“We are very impressed with Suraj's accomplishments - and perhaps even more proud of his humble attitude. While test scores are just one of the many criteria that most colleges consider when making admission decisions, his exceptional ACT composite score should prove helpful as he pursues his education and career goals,” shared MHS Principal Dave Hyatt.

Suresh is interested in following his father's footsteps and pursuing computer engineering in college.
ACT test scores are accepted by all major U.S. colleges, and exceptional scores of 36 provide colleges with evidence of student readiness for the academic rigors that lie ahead.
