Interested in enriching the lives of Mason City Schools’ students by harnessing your energy, time and talents?

Research shows that parent and community involvement in schools causes children to behave better, earn higher grades, score better on tests and graduate at higher rates.

  • The retired volunteer who reads to a young child may be the spark that ignites a life-long love of reading.
  • The volunteer who helps a new English as a Second Language student acquire language skills may ensure that students’ future is bright.
  • The business volunteer who leads a tour of his or her workplace prepares students for a world of possibilities.

Use your individual talents and experience to work with elementary, middle or high school students.

Volunteers work with children and schools in many ways including tutoring students, reading to children, conducting tours for new students and their families, or helping with the Birthday Book Club. Volunteers are required to pass a background check.

If you would like more information about volunteering, please fill out the Volunteer Form or call the Public Information Office at (513)398.0474.
