The Mason City Schools Transportation Department is committed to providing a safe, pleasant ride to and from school. Transportation is provided to 10,134 students for all seven Mason schools. In addition, bus service is provided for 1050 students to 22 private schools.

Bus routes are created during the summer. Bus stop information for the upcoming school year will be available online starting August 19 on Student Manager.

The bus stop is usually at a nearby cross-street or corner. For safety reasons, buses will not enter cul-de-sacs or dead-end streets, except for students with special needs as required by state law.

Students should arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled time at the designated place of safety (as established by the bus driver).- See FAQ's for more information on this.

The Mason City School District is responsible for students once they board the bus, while parents are responsible for the safety and supervision of their children to and from the bus stop and while waiting for the bus.

We want to make sure your child starts the day off right and ends it with a smile. Please contact us if we can help you in any way.

Sincerely,
Carole Abrams
