Throughout its nearly 80-year history, Mason Baseball has been paving the way. To honor the program's rich tradition, Mason Baseball and The Home Run Club will dedicate a paver patio honoring past Hall of Fame and Alumni players on October 18 at 2:00pm.
Each year the club will recognize a special team from the past that contributed to Mason baseball history in an exceptional way. The inaugural honorees will be the 1985 Comets who won the FAVC championship, District title, and finished the season with a 33-4 record - which still stands as the most Mason victories in a single season.
Today's Comets are building on that legacy of excellence - coming off three straight District Championships and two consecutive trips to the Elite Eight. "We understand our current successes are because of the past ones; and our foundation of success is because of the people that have come before us. The club and coaching staff couldn’t be more excited to have this opportunity to reflect our history in such a permanent way at our field," explained Curt Bly, Mason Varsity Baseball Coach.

Current Mason Baseball Hall of Fame members and alumni who already purchased bricks will be included in the initial installation of pavers.
Mason Baseball's 80 Year History
This project is an important part of a year long celebration of Comet Baseball's 80th season. Throughout the season, the Comets will honor their past in a variety of ways. "Through research, the club has been able to trace the program back to 1936. It’s an exciting time to be part of the Mason Baseball program," said Bly. "We are excited about the future of our program and absolutely proud of its past. Thank you for your contribution to it and we hope you will be able to join us this fall to celebrate past, present, and future!"
