Mason High School is proud to announce that two of its students won recognition at the 2016 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
Sophomore Emma Morrissey received a Gold Medal for her Digital Art piece "Metamorphosis," which was MHS' first Gold in Digital Art, and fellow sophomore Heidi Cervantes received a Silver Medal for her Digital Art piece "The Mango Parrot."
Morrissey's piece will be displayed in a gallery in New York, and she has been invited to attend the National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall on June 2 to be honored for her piece.
"Only one percent of the nearly 320,000 works of art and writing submitted are recognized at the national level! We are so proud of both of these girls for reaching this level!" shared MHS art teacher Tina Roberts.
