Mason High School celebrates the achievement of 22 of its students who were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Competition for 2017. Victoria Berry, Xindi Chen, Sneha Gundavarpu, Tanvi Jagtap, Aditya Jog, Mihir Kotian, Matthew Liao, Jose Martinez, Antonia Mordino, Zachary Oldham, Nihar Rama, Anamika Shah, Aditya Singh, Rujul Singh, Jessica Sommerville, Kayla Stroud, Dennis Sweeney, Sreeram Venkatarao, Oliver Voyten, Emily Wang, Jessica Wang, and Emily Zhao are all National Merit Semifinalists.

Mason High School seniors Jose Martinez, Derek Morales, and David Raufman were selected as National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars.

U.S. Secretary of Education, John B. King, Jr., announced that William Mason High School has been named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School.

MMS Students Participate in Mason/Festo Celebration of Innovation

Mason Middle School eighth graders in Laura Tonkin's Physical Science classes took hands-on learning to a whole new level (way, way UP!) while celebrating innovation. On October 10, Festo and the City of Mason provided Mason Middle School students the unique opportunity for some incredible authentic learning as part of a week-long celebration honoring our community's innovation.

Mason High School freshman Maanasa Mendu has been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2017.

Mason High School senior Emily Wang was named a National Award winner for the National Center of Women in Information Technology (NCWIT) 2017 Aspirations in Computing.

Mason High School is proud to announce its first state champion in the American Legion Americanism and Government Test in 20 years! MHS junior Puran Kansakar is one of 18 state winners, and earned an all-expenses paid, week-long trip to the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C, and to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. A highlight of the trip is a Wreath Laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery. 

Prattyush GirirajuNeev Gupta and the rest of the Omegabots team has qualified for the First Lego League North American Open Championship held at Legoland California in Carlsbad, CA on May 19-21.

The Mason City Schools Robotics Team 8719, Quantum Leap, placed second at the FIRST® Tech Challenge Ohio State Championship on February 11 at iSPACE Scarlet Oaks campus in Sharonville, OH. 

Mason High School freshman Mullika Pandit is the youngest and first female recipient to win a prestigious aviation scholarship.

Mason City Schools is one of 433 school districts in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 7th Annual AP® District Honor Roll for increasing access to AP course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.

The Mason Middle School MATHCOUNTS team came in second place overall at the MATHCOUNTS State Competition held at Columbus State Community College on March 11 .
Thirty-six Mason High School and Mason Middle School students presented their projects during the 2017 UC Science and EngineerinExpo on March 11 at the University of Cincinnati's West Campus. The students earned $7,750 in prizes and scholarship awards.

​MI Sixth Graders Virtually Travel to World Destinations
Sixth graders at Mason Intermediate have been exploring the world of virtual reality! Valerie Spaeth, sixth grade Social Studies and Language Arts teacher for Team Quest, and Mason City Schools Innovative Learning Coach Dan Little have worked together to bring this opportunity to students through support of the MI PTO.

The Mason Middle School Science Olympiad Team finished second place at the regional competition. Competing for Mason Middle School were the following students:  Vishnu Avanthsa,Tomasz Frelek, Amogh Iyanna, Akshay Joshi, Jessica Li,  Nandini Likki, Annie Liu,  Craig Qi, Kevin Ren, Ayanav Roy, Yuv Sachdeva, Nikhil Sherman, Eric Tang, Alex Ye and Pranav Yenugu.

Mason High School's HOSA Club won 18 out of 32 events at the State Competition, and 36 MHS students qualified for HOSA's International Leadership Conference from June 20-25.

Mason Middle School seventh grader Rishi Manoharan participated in the State History Day Competition with his research paper Bhagavatpada Sri Adi Shankaracharya: Reviving Hinduism and Advaita Vedanta.

Two Mason High School students completed their first Math Olympiads like champs! The underclassmen qualified for the USAMO and the USAJMO - The United States of America (Junior) Mathematical Olympiad - which took place April 19 and 20. MHS freshman Sruthi Parthasarathi qualified for the USAMO, and sophomore Richard Liu qualified for the USAJMO, respectively.

Eleven Mason Middle School students participated in the State Science Fair, hosted by The Ohio State University on May 13.​ The team won the Harold C. Shaw Outstanding School Award from The Ohio Academy of Science! The eleven students included Laalitya Acharya, Sankalp Agrawal, Vaishnavi Kavoori, Anrav Mantro, Rhea Mehta, Ayushe Nagpal, Ria Narang, Arvind Prasad, Gayatri Rajan, Amulya Surabhi, and Sanjay Swamy.

Mason High School Senior Peter Zhu competed in the American Regions Mathematics League's (ARML) annual competition on June 2 and June 3 at Penn State University. Zhu earned a perfect score in the individual contest - there were only five individuals who scored a perfect in the entire nation - and placed fifth in the overall competition.
