1:1 Personal Learning Device Program

All of the districts tech plans have one goal in mind and that is doing what's best for the learner. Ensuring that teachers and students have access to devices like Chromebooks and iPads are another important part of the district’s plan. Our district has been working diligently to transition to a 1:1 computing environment for our student learning by 2017-2018 school year. This has been supported through Staff Development to make sure our teachers are prepared for authentic integration to enhance learning.  We are also piloting new innovation in all of our STEAM courses throughout the entire district.  This includes innovative learning experiences that allows students to use coding and programming skills to solve problems and interact with robotics.  We have also implemented 3D printers to expose our students to 3D modeling and creative design.

“Our team is working creatively to architect a clear sustainable three year plan to move from a 1:4, 1:2 then to a 1:1 environment - allowing more opportunities for personalized learning. This will also mean we need to continue to develop and invest in our infrastructure to support classroom learning,” says Jonathan Cooper, Innovative Learning Officer. Our focus includes:

     • Enhancing and increasing access to authentic learning
     • Partnership with families anytime anywhere learning
     • SAMR & TPACK models
