Mason High School senior Toni Bizzarro was recognized as The Kiwanis Club of Mason's December Student of the Month. Bizzarro was nominated by MHS science teacher, Dee Dee Messer.
“Toni is the All-American role model for any young girl. Athletically, she was the starting goalie for the MHS Girls' Varsity Soccer team and led the team to a fantastic season. She also plays on a year-round select team that keeps her balancing her school, friends and practices throughout the year.,” shared Messer. “Academically, she pushes herself by taking multiple AP classes. In class, Toni works productively with everyone, asks questions whenever she struggles, and stays after to continue practicing the content to reach full understanding..”
In addition to being named an All-American and first-team All-Ohio in Division I soccer, she holds the shutout mark at Mason with 491/2 in 86 career games. Bizzarro is also an active member of NHS and was one of the student chairs for the first ever NHS 5k Color for a Cure run. She and some friends took an idea in the spring and brought it to life in the successful event, which took place in November. Her friendly attitude, intelligence and strong morals makes her the perfect role model for her peers.
On December 10, the Kiwanis Club presented Bizzarro with $50 and a certificate commemorating her achievement. Emily’s parents, Lisa and Michael Bizzarro, assistant principal Kevin Mays, and nominating teacher Messer joined the Kiwanians in recognizing Bizzarro's accomplishments. The Mason Kiwanis Club meets weekly at noon at the Houston Restaurant in Mason.
